The Opium Wars, were a series of two wars that occurred in the mid 19th century, the first war took place between the years 1839-1842 and it is known as the First Opium War, and the Second Opium War took place in 1856-1860. This war was a conflict between two huge empires, the Chinese Empire against the British Empire. The war was started as a fight against opium. The heroin epidemic in China had widely spread and the Chinese wanted to put an end to it.
