Four magical items of the Tribes of the goddess Danu
Tuatha Dé Danann were descendants of Nemed’s son, Iaborn, who after exile went to the “North of the World”. In the Northern Isles, where they stayed before coming to Ireland, this nation studied the crafts, science and the secret wisdom of the Druids, until they surpassed all people in these arts. From the native lands of the Tuatha Dé Danann brought with them four magical objects, artifacts.
The first magical item was Spear of Lugh, which always gave victory to its owner.
The second was Dagda’s cauldron: “People didn’t happen to go hungry from him,” he was a cauldron of plenty that could feed any number of hungry people. Dagda’s cauldron cannot be separated from Luga’s spear: the first must be filled with blood or poison, then Luga’s spear should be loaded into it so that it does not destroy all enemies.
The third artifact is the sword of Nuada: “It was worth removing it from the battle scabbard, as no one could ever turn away from it, and it was impossible to repel the blow”.
The fourth magical object was the Fall Stone, the Stone of Destiny, which began to scream loudly when the one who was destined to be the true king of Ireland stood up to him.
The arrival of the Tribes of the goddess Danu in Ireland
There are two versions of the story of the arrival of the Tribes of the goddess Danu. An earlier version claims that they were brought to Ireland by dark clouds in the air, which covered the sunlight for three days. According to the second version, the Tribes of the goddess Danu arrived, like all their predecessors, on ships, but burned them immediately after landing on the shore.
When they came to Ireland, Fir Bolg still owned these lands. The magical cloud hid the Tribes of the goddess Danu from the eyes of Fir Bolg, but when the cloud cleared, the locals discovered that the north-western part of Connacht was captured by unknown opponents. Then Fir Bolg sent a warrior named Sreng to the alien camp. Warriors exchanged spears. The spears of the indigenous people were heavy, and the spears of the Tribes of the goddess Danu were light, but sharp. Some researchers see in this the opposition of brute force and intellect.
Bres suggested Fir Bolg to split Ireland equally. In case of acceptance of the proposal, the Tribes of the Goddess Dana promised friendship and help in jointly protecting the lands from future invaders. But the natives of Ireland rejected this proposal, fearing that if the Tribes of the goddess Danu so easily get what they want, they may wish for more later. Between the two nations was a battle, the battle of Magu Tuired, but the aliens with many magical abilities won. As a result, an agreement was concluded between the tribes, according to which Fir Bolg received Connacht, and the Tribes of the goddess Danu — the rest of Ireland.
The expulsion of King Bres and the battle with the Fomorians
Before coming to Ireland, the tribes of the goddess Danu made an alliance with the Fomorians. Now, when, after the battle with Fir Bolg, the question arose about who should be king of Ireland, the candidacy of leader Nuadu was no longer necessary, since he lost his hand, and according to legend, the dead king cannot lead the country to prosperity. Then the women of the tribe offered the candidature of Bres, the son of Elat, one of the Fomorian kings. It was supposed to seal the union.
But Bres was a bad ruler and was expelled. Then, with his mother, he went to his father, who sent his son to another king of the Fomorians, Balor, nicknamed the Evil Eye, whose gaze could kill a single eye. Together with Balor, Bres went to war with Ireland to regain power. The second battle in the history of the Tuatha Dé Danann took place. Under the terrible gaze of the great eye of Balor, many brave warriors fell, but Lug, the grandson of this king of the Fomorians, managed to knock out the lethal eye with a stone. As a result, the invaders suffered a complete defeat.
Defeat of the Tribes of the Goddess Dana
The third battle in the history of the Tuatha Dé Danann was the battle with the Sons of Mile, the ancestors of modern people living in Ireland. The battle took place at Tailtiu, during which three kings and tribes of the Goddess Danu were killed, as well as many of their warriors. To escape the invaders, the tribes of the goddess Dana applied their spells and cast a cloak of invisibility upon themselves. Since then, there are two Ireland: the earth and the invisible country of the Tribal kings of the goddess Danu, inaccessible to people.
